Stewart Middlemas Art

I was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and attended Newcastle College of Art & Design, where I studied Photolithography.
I worked in the UK and South Africa as a Lithographic Planner before moving to Cornwall in 1986.
After a further spell in the printing trade I decided on a career change, and spent 8 years fishing for mackerel out of St Ives and painting for pleasure.
Inspired by the pretty seaside towns and villages of West Cornwall, and by my Northumberland heritage, I began painting professionally.
My paintings reflect my affinity with boats and the sea.
